Quilcene Historical Museum

The Quilcene Historical Museum was founded to preserve the past for present and future generations.

Our museum has grown over the 30+ years since its founding.  The museum building itself has a unique history. The development of the museum and of the surrounding Worthington Park is an inspiring story of a small community working together.  All of this is guided by our all-volunteer Museum Board of Directors, our volunteers and a supportive public.

Collections

Our museum is small but full! You will find many ways to research the area. Exhibits display numerous objects donated by local residents. Photos from the late 1800’s to present, maps, newspaper articles and family histories fill our archives. We also have a small library of books about south Jefferson County.

Explore

Exhibits bring the south Jefferson County history to life. You can research specific topics or the general area or read stories about the people and places. Our gift shop stocks mementos and books written about the area. Your visit doesn’t have to stop with the museum. Worthington Park boasts a walking trail, a picnic area and the restored Hamilton / Worthington Mansion. Learn more about the mansion and see inside by accessing our “digital docent” tour online.
