Financial Support for Quilcene Historical Museum

We are proud of all we have to offer the community and visitors from outside the county

A museum loaded with items and exhibits that bring the history of south Jefferson County to life, a park for dog walking, picnicking, or sitting by the pond enjoying the view of the Olympic Mountains, and a historical mansion that will transport you back in time.

Over the years, we have been very successful in obtaining grants to capital campaigns, and we continue to apply for these resources. Funding is also generated through rental of the mansion, museum memberships and events. All of these together cover a portion of our annual operating budget.

We are now delighted to offer two additional opportunities to help keep us vital: a Sustaining Fund and an Endowment. Become a part of our community by supporting us in a way that works for you.

The Sustaining Fund

Contributions to the Sustaining Fund directly cover our expenses of continuing to offer free museum admission, maintaining beautiful grounds, updating exhibits – and much more. Please consider becoming a monthly or annual supporter. Choose a category that fits your budget and contact the museum to begin helping us sustain our operations.

The Quilcene Historical Museum has also established an Endowment. These funds are held in trust with the goal that return on investment will help the museum fulfill its mission to “preserve and promote our community’s history and culture for present and future generations”. You can help us achieve this long term goal with a direct contribution or by remembering the museum in your will. Please contact Carol Christiansen at for more details.

Donation of Historical Items

The Quilcene Historical Museum collections exist because south Jefferson County community members have generously donated all of these items. The museum accepts donations of historical photos, artifacts and documents related to south Jefferson County.  We use these items in our efforts to educate and inspire others into the future. If you have something you are considering donating, we would love to talk with you! Please bring any items for donation to the museum during open hours or call to arrange a meeting at the museum with one of our volunteers who will accept your donation.
