2026 Events

Worthington Park provides ideal settings for special events throughout the year for our community as well as visitors from outside the county, state, and nation. Our vision is to become a multi-functional event center that attracts increased numbers of visitors as it educates, entertains, and enriches.

We are hosting a number of public events this year and you are invited to participate in as many as you wish. Check the event line up below and watch for possible additional events throughout the year.

April 25

Quilcene Historical Museum and Worthington Mansion Open House
The Quilcene Historical Museum will have its season-opening kick-off event and the Hamilton-Worthington House will be open for tours from 11am-3pm on Saturday April 25th. Come see our refreshed museum with new and updated exhibits and learn more about the oldest still-standing home in Quilcene.

June 13

Bon Jon Gravel Unravel Gravel Bike Races

Gravel Unravel is an endurance gravel bicycling series on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State. This series is brought to you by a partnership between Peninsula Adventure Sports and La Vogue Cyclery This event is designed for those who wish to challenge their physical abilities to the maximum while enjoying the lushness of Olympic National Forest. Participants can ride short (25-35 miles), medium (45-55 miles), or long (65-80 miles) distances on majority gravel courses (percent varies by race/distance) while enjoying towering evergreens and vivid green moss and ferns. There are both competitive and non-competitive Gran Fondo style divisions, and all are welcome to give the Gravel Unravel a try on their own terms.
Bon Jon Pass Out
The village of Quilcene is perfectly placed at the base of the Olympic Mountains, and along Quilcene Bay. This village is synonymous with hospitality, and especially welcoming are the great folks at Worthington Park, where we will be based for the day.
After leaving Worthington Park, riders head for their first challenge – Bon Jon Pass. Luckily June is when the wild rhododendrons are in full bloom. Spotlighted against the deep green background of the forest, the blooms are sure to brighten up what might seem like an endless ascent. After Bon Jon Pass, enjoy the views and ridges, returning via Lords Lake Loop. Well, except the long course riders – they get to climb Bon Jon again!

4th of July at Worthington Park

We’re having another fantastic 4th of July Picnic & Potluck hosted by the Quilcene Lions, VFW, and the Masons here at Worthington Park! Saturday July 4th from 11:30-2:30

Key City Public Theater: Summer Theater Camp, Quilcene

Participate in “the art of play”!

Summertime is coming and Key City Public Theatre is here for your performing artists to shine!

One Week | July 27-July 30 | 9AM-12:30PM | Quilcene

Performance: Class Performance will take place 15 minutes before pickup on Thursday, the final class day!

Every summer, we offer week-long camps for ages 8-15. These day camps provide an immersive experience for students of all levels to deepen and expand skills taught throughout the year. They are also an excellent introduction to the fun and creativity of theatre arts education. Each camp results in a showcase for friends and family to highlight their experience during the immersive week.

These popular camps that engage youth in fun, creative ways outdoors at Worthington Park (Quilcene) generally sell out, so early registration is recommended.

UpUpUp Circus
The UpUpUp Circus returns to Worthington Park! Saturday August 29th starting around 6pm

 

September 20

Quilcene Oyster Races – 1/2 Marathon, 10K, 5K & Kids’ Sprint

Run, walk, or roll! We have races for all ages, great food, local organic oysters and micro brews in our popular and shady beer garden by the pond. The Quilcene Oyster Half Marathon is a USATF Certified and Sanctioned Event. The surroundings include woodlands, water, and mountains. The Half Marathon has a total ascent of 1019 ft and has a maximum elevation of 699 ft. It is hilly and challenging, but totally worth it! This is THE BEST training race for Winter Marathons!

 

October 10

Quilcene Fiber Festival

Explore it all from sheep to shawl. Celebrate the extraordinarily diverse fiber artist talents in our region. We have performances, live music, a food court, demonstrations, animals, and many vendors. There will truly be something here for everyone – with many engaging, fun, and educational events for all ages within the 1892 Hamilton-Worthington Mansion, open meadows, the Linger Longer Outdoor Theatre, near the 1915 Historic Barn and inside the Quilcene Historical Museum. Learn the history, meet today’s experts and crafters, find amazing holiday gifts, bring the whole family – kids will love the hands-on activities and live animals.

 

October 31

Halloween at Worthington Park

A Haunted Hallway and Spooky Trail by the Quilcene School Drama Club, the annual Quilcene Trunk or Treat, witches and worlocks and other things that go bump in the night…
